singapore eats: black sheep cafe

The place is not very crowed even on a Friday night.
Good for a girls' night out or dating.
Located in a shopping mall at Thomson, quite accessible.
The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Their bread is very delicious.
warm and chewy.

Escargots with butter and garlic.
My first attempt at Escargots, a bit chewy.

Duck confit on Apple Roesti, Mango Relish
and
chicken in red wine, stuffed field mushrooms, puree potato

I ate the duck confit.. the skin is crisy and the meat is tender but slight chewy.
Not for you if you do not like to chew
My sister said her chicken in red wine is very tender.

Kahlua Souffle, double chocolate ice cream..
The waiter pour the cream in the souffle and then is ready to be consumed..
The chocolate ice cream is not very sweet but the Souffle is crispy and creamy.
Interesting.
I like the souffle especially the bitss with roasted brown sugar.

JUst eat Singapore : Siam Kitchen (Thai food) at nex

Ordered Tom Yam soup.
Yes, the bowl is half full...few seafood and mushroom inside.

Soft shell crab and curry.

Chicken

The food serving is not little but is not a lot either.
The food is consider good especially the chicken. Tender and flavoured
However, the service is not really up to standard.
Firstly, they serve us a bowl of rice and the tom yam soup after a 15 minute wait.
We waited another 15 minutes but none of the food came.
The soup turned cold and the rice became hard, we feedbacked to the manager and after another 10 minute.
we were ok waiting for our food, serving us partial of the food and leaving us there for another 10 minutes while the food turned cold is not really desirable.
They serve us our food and replace our soup.
Weirdly, the soup was hotter than when it was served for the first time.
I notice someone who placed her order 5 minutes before me and she was enjoying her dinner while I was waiting for my food to arrive.
Another table, the guy finished his dinner and his friend food arrived. In between, there was like a 10 min gap?
I was bored, waiting for my food to arrive so I was being kaypoh.
Seriously, if I eating with my friend in a restaurant. I want to eat together, not I eat first and then look at my friend eat and vice versa.
The restaurant was half full only.

Singapore Eats : ARbite

Meetup with some ex students for brunch or maybe lunch..
was not very crowded at lunch.
I ordered the chicken, which was tender and juicy.
My student's breakfast serving seems quite big and they did enjoy their breakfast. It was quite worth it too, at around $15.
The dessert which was mango meringue was just normal..

The interiors is simple and comfortable.
Good place for a good chat with friends

Address: 66A Serangoon Garden way
Is located at the row of shophouse where HSBC is located.
Opposite the bus stop.
The restuarant is located at the second floor so look out for the small door which lead you to the restaurant.

Singapore eat: Chock full of beans cafe

Visited this cafe at changi Village last week.
Not a very big cafe. Around ten tables, some indoors and some outdoors.
Ordered a cup of hot chocolate, just to look at the art work they are able to produce.
My sister went there with a group of friends and they have different artwork for each of them.
Mine was just normal but the artworks on their facebook, look fabulous.. The coffee or drinks are around $5-$7?
We ordered a pasta salmon penne and a mushroom chicken truffle pizza.
Me and my friend shared both the pizza and the pasta.
The pasta was good, not too creamy.
A 30 minutes wait was required for the pizza, but it was worth the wait.
The fillings were generous. Look at the amount of mushroom, the chicken is just a secondary ingredients.
The pizza is skin is crispy and medium in thickness.
Chocolate cake taste good, not too sweet or creamy
The staff was quick to rectify the problems due to the computer system, they were quick and sincere in
rectifying the errors. I know sometimes things may go wrong, most important they take efforts to make things better. They are good! :D

The meal cost around $50.

I will definitely visit this place again.

Singapore food: Boss Barbq

The reason for visiting this place is because I bought the groupon voucher.
Spicy Spicy. Can request food to be not so spicy.
But the food is good. Reminds of Korea food and staff are attentive and quite in replenshing my water.
Decent meal for two without alcohol should be around $50.
I would say it does reminds me of the authentic Korean food. and it is authentic Korean food.

Just EAt : Singapore Halia at Raffles Hotel

The hallway

Ordered two small dishes( Celraic Lasagne and oriental pulled duck) and  three big dishes(HAlia Chilli Crab, Seafood in Saffron Orange broth and Sous Vide Baharat chicken Leg)  for four girls.
Sides can be added.
My friend likes the Celraic Lasagne. I like the toasted mushrooms that is scattered on the Lasagne.
As I am a meat and seafood lover, I prefer the Seafood in Saffron Orange broth as there are seafood like mussels, salmon, cod, prawns. It does not taste spicy. More of a milky and sweet soup.
Halia chilli crab taste good but the taste of the crab is not really prominent so is more of a chilli crab sauce with pasta for me.
The Chicken leg was tender and the skin crispy.
The oriental pulled duck is a no for me as I don't like sesame oil and the soba is coated with sesame oil.

 The Desserts:
Ginger Nougaut PArfait, Sticky toffee pudding and white chocolate mousse.
We were not customed to the taste of ginger so it taste a bit usual. However, it taste better when eated together when the caramelized pineapple.
The Sticky toffee pudding is more of a moist and dense sponge cake. Eat is with the ice cream and caramel. Average.
I enjoyed the white chocolate mousse the most, the white chocolate is sweet and the chocolate ice cream taste good with the crumbs.

As the original shop is situated at botanical gardens, I think that is why there is a number of fake trees in the restaurant.
We did not order drinks. The bill came up to around $170.
The service is good. Waiters and waitresses are friendly and attentive.
Quiet place for a Saturday evening.
Around half of the restaurant was filled.

Singapore Food: Porridge Buffet at Crystal Cafe

The food available.
Is not fantastic but I think is worth the price.
for people who want a simple but traditional buffet.
Good place to bring elderly who prefer chinese and not too expensive food.

Singapore Food: Antoinette

Went to Antoinette at Mandarin Gallery for brunch.
The food was good and there is quite a selection of food and desserts available.
Enjoyed both the food and desserts
Will visit the place again, there are so many more desserts and food that I want to try.
I like the comfortable armchairs, good place for girls to gather and talk and enjoy desserts. However, the table seems a bit small.

Singapore food : Rabbit Carrot Gun

The restaurant.
Warm vintage and cozy feel to it.
Is quite a small place.
The menu.
Quite limited.
Wanted to try the pasta but their stove is under repairs.
Ordered the fish pie and Quiche(bacon)
The food is delicious.
The fish pie contains chunky fish and prawns and potatoes. I think I taste scallops too. So is more like a seafood pie.The fish pie came with a salad.
There were 3 flavours for the Quiche. I took the bacon Quiche.
I like the Quiche too because I like food a bit burnt and this is slightly less cheesy.
The Quiche came with choice of two salads, can choose from the huge variety of salads available. There were cooked vegetables, brown rice, potatoes and ....
The portion is average. More fulfilling than it looks.
