Singapore : Pasarbella at GRandstand

GEtting bored of Singapore and don't where to visit and have a nice meal.
Can try going to Pasarbella at the grandstand which is the turf club.
There is big farmer's market which serve lots of food and some pretty things.
However, if you expecting to shop then you will be disappointed.
There are free shuttle bus from some mrt station.

The famous Omakas burger.
We have truffle fries and crispy chicken burger but their specialty is their beef burger but I don't take beef
Good food.
We tried the biscuit ice cream, it is nice. However,  they should provide a spoon as it is hard to eat as the ice cream started to melt.
The spanish seafood rice was one of the most popular dish, but my sister's friend was quite disappointed with the dish as it looks much better than it taste.

I just like the way they put the signboard and add in some descriptions

More food!! The shop at the top left sells nice cakes and you can sample too before you buy.

Desserts?
Ice cream with our favourite traditional biscuit with the little sugar puff on top
or
maroons with my melody and hello kitty design

Dutch Colony Coffee Co.
There is a cute guy selling small pancakes. The pancakes taste quite good.
But I bought the red velvet cake to try, quite disappointed with it.
Only one layer of cream cheese which is at the top and side of the cake.
The cake is dry and tasteless.

Shops which sell lovely country style, a bit floral and vintage style towels, cutlery and cups

Shops which sell interesting variety of balloons. A hair salon for kids and also aromatherapy.

They sell party stuff for kids and lovely tea sets

It is definitely worth a visit.
interesting place

They have buses from Clementi, Toa Payoh and Botanic gardens

Singapore Eats : Jewel Cafe and BAr at RAngoon road

The interiors.
The place is not crowded even on a Friday night.
Was expecting it to be crowded due to it being featured on newsapaper just a few days ago.
It is simple but good looking place.

Southern Fried Chicken, add $2 to upgrade fries to Truffle fries.
Chilli Crab Pasta.
Southern fried chicken was not bad but not understanding.
I don't seems to understand Truffle so I shall not comment.
I love the chilli crab pasta, it is a must try.
I like the chunky crab bits, the chilli gravy and the cute little fried mantou. A must try.

Ordered a tiramisu for desserts.
Was good but not understanding.

The menu

Singapore EATs : Medzs

Tried out the Medzs Value Lunch yesterday.
The price for a meal at a restuarant in town, this price is considered quite decent to me.
The concept is like a mache, you have to walk to each counter to order food and all the information will be stored in a little card.
SEt A:MAin course with a drink is $8.90.
SEt B: MAin Course with a drink and salad/rosti/dessert is $10.90.
Set C : Main course with drink and dessert and salad/rosti is $12.90.
Main course selection change from day to day, you have to walk to each counter and look at the black board stating the main course for the value lunch for that day, there was around 5-8 selections
Rosti is plain rosti with sour cream and cheese.
Dessert is various from day to day, there is 2 desserts to choose from.
I ordered a Set A and a Set C and share the rosti and dessert with my sister.

The main attaction of the restaurant, beautiful lamps.

Servings are not that big but will do for girls..
We had pasta with ham and mushrooms and boneless chicken for the main course.
A rosti.
And chocolate moose for desserts
and ice lemon teas.
The main course was quite delicious, serving size is average.
The rosti is a bit weird as there is this big piece of cheese on top of it and also it is a bit oily.
The chocolate moose is good but not fantastic.

Will be good if you want not to expensive lunch at a decent place with decent food when you are the city.

Singapore Eats : Pietro Ristorante Italiano

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my sister's birthday and also because it is located near my place.
Not a need to travel.
First impression was ok, the place is simply done.
The place was quite packed.
Hence, it was a bit noisy so if you are hoping for a romantic dinner, this is not the place.
If you are planning a gathering with friends or families, this is the place.
Complimentary bread.

We ordered two main dishes: Risotto alla Pescatora and Rivioli.
The servings was a bit small, so intent was for us to order appetizer?
It was not bad but not fantastic. Sister was disappointged because the Rivioli was supposed to have scallops, but we only taste fish.

Ordered Pizza Margherita as we were still hungry.
This is good, I like the thin and fragrant crust, toppled with cheese. It is simple but delicious.
My favourite dish of the day.

Tortino di Lava con Rum
Chocolate lava cake with rum and vanilla icecream.
It is good.

They have one for one promotion during lunch for certain dishes.
More worth to go during lunch.

Singapore eats: Professor Brawn cafe at novena

Interesting looking restuarant..that highlights the cafe's cause.
No worries about the service. Is definitely good because service is best when staff put their hearts in it.
Actually I find it no different from normal cafe except they seems to be more attentive and serious

The main course..
We ordered almost one of everything..
Chicken, fish &chips, rosti with sausage, spaghetti with meatballs
The best dish should be the ribs..was tendered so we did not even need a steak knife to cut and eat..

Cakes.. how can any meal be without any cake..
Their variety of cakes is not big but is good. especially the chocolate cake

Yummy free ice cream with the main course if you used UOB card for payment

singapore eats: black sheep cafe

The place is not very crowed even on a Friday night.
Good for a girls' night out or dating.
Located in a shopping mall at Thomson, quite accessible.
The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Their bread is very delicious.
warm and chewy.

Escargots with butter and garlic.
My first attempt at Escargots, a bit chewy.

Duck confit on Apple Roesti, Mango Relish
and
chicken in red wine, stuffed field mushrooms, puree potato

I ate the duck confit.. the skin is crisy and the meat is tender but slight chewy.
Not for you if you do not like to chew
My sister said her chicken in red wine is very tender.

Kahlua Souffle, double chocolate ice cream..
The waiter pour the cream in the souffle and then is ready to be consumed..
The chocolate ice cream is not very sweet but the Souffle is crispy and creamy.
Interesting.
I like the souffle especially the bitss with roasted brown sugar.

JUst eat Singapore : Siam Kitchen (Thai food) at nex

Ordered Tom Yam soup.
Yes, the bowl is half full...few seafood and mushroom inside.

Soft shell crab and curry.

Chicken

The food serving is not little but is not a lot either.
The food is consider good especially the chicken. Tender and flavoured
However, the service is not really up to standard.
Firstly, they serve us a bowl of rice and the tom yam soup after a 15 minute wait.
We waited another 15 minutes but none of the food came.
The soup turned cold and the rice became hard, we feedbacked to the manager and after another 10 minute.
we were ok waiting for our food, serving us partial of the food and leaving us there for another 10 minutes while the food turned cold is not really desirable.
They serve us our food and replace our soup.
Weirdly, the soup was hotter than when it was served for the first time.
I notice someone who placed her order 5 minutes before me and she was enjoying her dinner while I was waiting for my food to arrive.
Another table, the guy finished his dinner and his friend food arrived. In between, there was like a 10 min gap?
I was bored, waiting for my food to arrive so I was being kaypoh.
Seriously, if I eating with my friend in a restaurant. I want to eat together, not I eat first and then look at my friend eat and vice versa.
The restaurant was half full only.

Singapore Eats : ARbite

Meetup with some ex students for brunch or maybe lunch..
was not very crowded at lunch.
I ordered the chicken, which was tender and juicy.
My student's breakfast serving seems quite big and they did enjoy their breakfast. It was quite worth it too, at around $15.
The dessert which was mango meringue was just normal..

The interiors is simple and comfortable.
Good place for a good chat with friends

Address: 66A Serangoon Garden way
Is located at the row of shophouse where HSBC is located.
Opposite the bus stop.
The restuarant is located at the second floor so look out for the small door which lead you to the restaurant.

Singapore eat: Chock full of beans cafe

Visited this cafe at changi Village last week.
Not a very big cafe. Around ten tables, some indoors and some outdoors.
Ordered a cup of hot chocolate, just to look at the art work they are able to produce.
My sister went there with a group of friends and they have different artwork for each of them.
Mine was just normal but the artworks on their facebook, look fabulous.. The coffee or drinks are around $5-$7?
We ordered a pasta salmon penne and a mushroom chicken truffle pizza.
Me and my friend shared both the pizza and the pasta.
The pasta was good, not too creamy.
A 30 minutes wait was required for the pizza, but it was worth the wait.
The fillings were generous. Look at the amount of mushroom, the chicken is just a secondary ingredients.
The pizza is skin is crispy and medium in thickness.
Chocolate cake taste good, not too sweet or creamy
The staff was quick to rectify the problems due to the computer system, they were quick and sincere in
rectifying the errors. I know sometimes things may go wrong, most important they take efforts to make things better. They are good! :D

The meal cost around $50.

I will definitely visit this place again.

Singapore food: Boss Barbq

The reason for visiting this place is because I bought the groupon voucher.
Spicy Spicy. Can request food to be not so spicy.
But the food is good. Reminds of Korea food and staff are attentive and quite in replenshing my water.
Decent meal for two without alcohol should be around $50.
I would say it does reminds me of the authentic Korean food. and it is authentic Korean food.
