Hong Kong free and easy : Huang Da Xian (黃大仙) Immortal Wong

 My parents
One main reason for visiting this place. My dad wanted to.
Huang Da Xian (黃大仙) aka Immortal Wong
Just take the train to the station and follow the signs.
walk out of the station and you can spot the temple quite easily.

The place is not very big but not very small. Can spend around 30 minutes if you want to explore the whole place. Definitely need more time if you are going to take lots of photos or praying. It was drizzling when I was there but there are still a lot of people praying.
There is a small garden at the right side of the temple.
See the baby dragon and that hand. Everyone seems to be touching it and so we joined in. haha.

Sumo hands. Much bigger than me and my sister's hand

Hong Kong: Random Shots

hong Kong : Ap Liu street 鴨寮

Step out to Ap Liu street and you will find stalls selling handphone cases and screen protector. I am not sure about the quality but the price and variety seems good.

We went up the 北河街市政大廈, it was a wet market.
You see live chickens, vegetables and fruits.
If you are not into this, just walk at ground level.

.
There are almost no shopping for clothes and shoes here.
Good for Buying fruits, vegetables, pastries and dried goods.
Trying to understand the cantonese.
Dried Starfish for sale.

Lots of dried goods for sale.
Dried oyster, mushrooms, fish, cuttlefish, sea cucumber, ikan bilis and a lot more.
Quite amazed at their collection of dried goods.
their dried shrimps have small, medium, large.
As big the prawn we see in the wanton in Hong Kong. (bottom right photo)
They even have  dried duck wings. (middle right photo)

Lot of bakeries.
My parents bought the wife's biscuit from here and I enjoyed my mango desserts

Garang Guni?

Random places

Hong kong : Shopping at pharmacy, h&M, esprit and tips

Shopping at H&M. According to people, H&M is cheaper and the variety is better at Hong Kong. I am not really sure about that as I don't visit Singapore H&M often.
I visited two branches in Singapore, the one at Langham place and the other one at Tsui Sha Tsui, at Canton Road.
The one at Tsim Sha Tsui is definitely bigger with teenagers and kid's clothings, will definitely recommended that. Petite girls can buy from the teenages' range too.
But Langam Place has freebies and privileges for tourist at other shops, not for H&M. I received a small laneign sample this time.

Hong KOng is full of shops selling beauty products and makeup.
I was attracted to Sanrio stuff so I bought some.
My mum bought Olay and Loreal stuff at 40-50% cheaper than Singapore price.
2B slimming products are cheaper in Hong Kong too.
Meiji collagen can be bought at hk$188, which is around $30. I think in Singapore, it retails for around $60.

Lung Shing Pharmacy 龍城大藥房.
28 Granville Rd Tsim Sha Tsui b2 exit. around 5-10minutes walk.
They have a larger variety and supposedly cheaper Sasa and Bonjour, hence the place is very very crowded with locals and foreigners. I was pushed around quite often.
Not allowed to try the perfumes, so try it elsewhere and buy it from here.
We bought shu Uemera makeup base at 40% cheaper compared to Singapore price.
The queue is super long. Take turns to queue and shop. The more expensive and branded products (clinque, estee lauder, laneign, shu uemera and etc) and perfumes are kept at the counter,so plan what you are going to buy and take notes of prices at Bonjour or other shops before coming here to buy as you do not want to come here and queue again.
The people here are not exactly friendly or helpful.
Most important, payment in cash only.

Foudn this sportshouse which sell sports products at quite good price. The cons, limited size, the shoes I like do not have my size.
Passed by it while walking to avenue of stars using the underpass from sheraton

Cute things to buy.

Esprit factory outlets.
I am not a fan of Esprit but the price is much cheaper than singapore. A good place to get basic and good quality stuff.
Esprit was having an extra 40% for some items, minimum 3 items purchased.
I managed to get Esprit tee at s$10, shorts and denim skirts at around S$20+.
I think is a good buy as the quality is good.

BRanded goods should be cheaper in Hong Kong due to favourable exchange rate and also  no tax is being charged.
However, do your research before buying.
Hong kong has a lot big shopping malls, like harbour city, times squares. Most of them have discount or privileges for tourist. Check with the information counter before making your purchases.
Mango and Zara should be cheaper in Hong kong too.
and if you are going to markets, fa yeun, mongkok, temple street or ya liu street. Remember to be thicked skinned and bargain.

I did not manage to visit Lai Chi Kok, the wholesale fashion market as they were closed on the day I visited, Sunday.

Have fun. :D
Remember to bring your own recyclable shopping bags as they do charge for shopping bags in hong kong

Cheap shopping.
