Korea: Seoul Shopping

 We Shopped. Some of it.

When I visit Korea in 2011, I realised shops was not as generous with samples as they used to be in 2010.
Back to hotel at myeongdong, after shopping at dongdaemun

Korea free and easy : Seoul Ewha women's university

Hoddeok (Korean pancake with sweet cinnamon) has a toasted version, instead of the fried version here.
The grilled chicken stewer is heavenly, can be found at myeongdon too.
I like the cup of snack, with fried chicken, fried potato and rice cakes. Not sure what is it called but is good.

This is close to the ewha women's university so there are lot of shops, cafes and stalls catering to the students studying nearby.

Lot of interesting snacks and cafes. and shops for clothing, shoes and accessories.

The shopping is as good as dongdaemun, because there is a large variety and the price does not differ by a lot. Dongdaemun is usually cheaper if you buy in bulk. and this place caters to students so price is quite reasonable.

5 mins walk from exits # 2 & 3 of Ewha Womans University Station (Subway Line 2)

Korea free and easy: SEoul Kwang Jang MArket

TRaditional market : Kwang JAng MArket.
Can be reached by subway.
Just choose a stall, sit down and start ordering by pointing as a lot of stall sell more than one type of food.
There are shopping to be done and a lot of korean food.
I enjoyed gimbop(seaweed roll) and the mochi.
They sell sashimi too and they have a few sauces, unlike japanese which is just wasabi and soya sauce.
Try whatever you think catch your fancy and have lots of fun.

Korea free and easy: Seoul nandaemun and Dongdaemun

 Nandaemun at night

NAndaemum in the morning.

I think Nandaemum is different day and night.
Try exploring the different buildings, some sell clothes, some sell food, some sell household stuffs.
If you are looking for clothes that are bigger in size or for older woman, this is the place.
I saw lots of people carting back korean pots and pans.
Just watch out for tourist traps as some things tend to overpriced, and if you are interested in buying seaweed, just go to the supermarket. It is much much cheaper.

Dongdaemum. The party starts at night. The shops here open till 4-5.am. I find some of the price around the same as ehwa university shopping area. Maybe is more for wholesale.
However, there are shops selling clothes and accessories for both guys and girls. Skinfood and Missha and other shops can be found here.
